Job description:  The job of a Landscape technician involves performing Landscaper duties at any site throughout San Diego Unified School District . The number of work days allowed per fiscal year (July 1st-June 30th) is 195.  The work is often strenuous and continuous and you should expect to be working in all kinds of weather.  The substitute landscape technician  must be available to work up to 40 hours per week, and be available between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. every workday to receive your assignments.

Hiring procedures: You will be required to complete a Conviction Report Form by the Human Resource Services Department when you are processed for employment.  This review by the DOJ takes several days to several weeks.  Unacceptable convictions will disqualify you from employment with the San Diego Unified School District, including misdemeanor or felony convictions related to sex or drug offenses.  

In accordance with the Education Code (Section 45125), you are required to have a current tuberculin skin test and be fingerprinted.  The fee for fingerprinting is approx. $67 and needs to be paid when you go for fingerprinting.
