SAN DIEGO - Construction crews began demolition last Monday at Emerson-Bandini Elementary, on what will become an entire site transformation.
The project team spent time planning a new vision for the school site; they gathered input from the community, staff, and parents on how to create a space where students could feel inspired. Crews plan to complete the demolition and begin building by fall of this year.
Crews will construct a 22,000 square-foot, two-story wing of classrooms; a 5,200 square-foot administrative workspace; new classroom halls for both kindergarten and preschool; a new outdoor amphitheater, and a lunch court.

Construction does not stop there- the multi-purpose building will be fully refurbished; including the multi-purpose room, library media center, cafeteria, and kitchen. The existing turf field will also be renovated and expanded to over 26,400 square-feet.

Construction is poised to complete in winter 2021. The project is fully funded through Propositions S & Z. To read more about projects, like the one at Emerson-Bandini, visit www.fpcprojects.sandi.net.
